đŸ’¯ very well articulated. Energy (fuel and electricity) is the foundation of life and "just" energy is indeed a human right (that's why we have free energy from the sun) we should not allow the economic cartels to enrich themselves from the poor.
Technology development must invest in the sources of energy available on our continent. We cannot support an energy sector that is ignoring us and insisting on investing in technology that gives the global north an upper hand
Every time I think this idea has reached the pinnacle of terribleness, another factor comes along and makes it worse. Ugh.
any nuclear plant is horrible for Kenya anywhere. It cannot be operated on the crappy Kenyan grid and will potentially cause harm because of inherent frequent failures of the Kenyan grid. Worse is the 1000 MW nuclear. It’s like saying you are size 5 and you will buy size 50 pants. You definitely can’t fit in size 50 pants. That’s what is weird about the NuPEA proposal. So, it should be no nuclear anywhere if possible — it’s a very dangerous thing that these NuPEA guys are playing around with.
You know very well the motivation for pursuing nukes. Kickbacks and corruption. Nobody is interested in solving the county's energy needs. No! It's about how much thugs will pocket and the complexities that give birth to evil opportunities. If it was purely an energy issue, we have enough green and renewable energy sources.
